Suffern Dance Registration, Fees and Dress Code

Registration, Supply Sales and Suggested Dress Code

Registration for the September 2012 - June 2013 classes is also open now (Sept 2012 - June 2013 registration form).  Dance supplies for the 2012 -2013 classes may be purchased at the Suffern Y on September 7, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM and on September 8th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 

Dress Code Requirements

  • CREATIVE MOVEMENT:  any solid color leotard, pink tights, leather pink ballet slippers.
  • COMBO CLASSES:  black leotard, tan, pink or white tights, pink leather ballet shoes and black taps.
  • JAZZ, HIP HOP: any color leotard and tan tights or tank top and black jazz pants and tan jazz shoes.
  • TAP, JAZZ, LYRICAL, MODERN AND BALLET:  black leotard, tan, pink or white tights. Tan jazz, tap and/or lyrical sandals or pink ballet shoes.
  • GYMNASTIC TUMBLING: any color leotard or unibike, white gym shoes or bare feet
  • HAIR FOR ALL CLASSES: Must be neatly pulled back and up off shoulders.  Buns are required for classical ballet

If you dress like a dancer you will feel like a dancer!  Please do not wear street or baggy clothes to lessons.  Please purchase your dance shoes and supplies before the first day of classes.  Any questions, please contact Becky Hallissey at (845) 357-4404 Ext 304.


Fees for September 2012 through June 2013 Dance Programs

YMCA Membership Fee (Applies in all cases)

All classes require at least one member of the family to be a member of the YMCA.  The membership fee for a youth is $80 for the year.

One Class by One Child

For the period of September 2012 through June 2013, the fee for one child with one class is $460 paid in equal installments of $115 due the first week of September, November, January and March.  A $15 late fee will be charged if the payment is later than the 15th of the month that it is due. 

Unlimited Classes by One Child

For the period of September 2012 through June 2013, the fee for one child with unlimited classes is $1040 paid in equal installments of $260 due the first week of September, November, January and March.  A $15 late fee will be charged if the payment is later than the 15th of the month that it is due.  There is no discount for two or more children attending unlimited classes.

Two Classes by One Child (10% Discount on Total Tuition)

For the period of September 2012 through June 2013, the fee for one child with two classes is $828 paid in equal installments of $207 due the first week of September, November, January and March.  A $15 late fee will be charged if the payment is later than the 15th of the month that it is due. 

One Class by Two or More Children in the Same Family (10% Discount on Total Tuition)

For the period of September 2012 through June 2013, there is a 10% discount on the total tuition due for the number of children from the same family attending.  The tuition is paid in four equal installments due the first week of September, November, January and March.  A $15 late fee will be charged if the payment is later than the 15th of the month that it is due. 


Refund and Make Up Policies

Credit will be issued on request.  There are no refunds.  Missed classes may be made up at your convenience by attending the other regularly scheduled sessions of the same course.  There are no special make up sessions at the end of the session.
