The Rockland County YMCA is offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, creative and ambitious Aquatics Program Director. Job Description: Responsibility for all aspects of the aquatics department including administration and finance, program development, staff management and supervision, training, certification, safety and risk management, volunteer management, aquatics facility operations, and implementation of the mission through the aquatic department and its programs.Sample Work Schedule Sunday 8-4Monday - 8-4Tuesday 8-4Wednesday 1-9Thursday 9-5Fri/Sat - off QualificationsCollege graduate with strong organizational, computer and communication skillsAt least 3 years Aquatic program experience, managing pool utilization, and staff supervisionWorking knowledge of swimming pool operating systems including filtration, pool chemistry, maintenance, and upkeep.Human relations and customer service skills, good written and verbal communications skills, leadership skills, and ability to be a team player in the YMCA required. Required certifications:American Red Cross LifeguardAmerican Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (must cross over to the YMCA certification)Lifeguard Management certificationCPR/First Aid/AED/O2Pool Operation on Location (or must obtain)Lifeguard Instructor/ LGI (preferred or must obtain)
Exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and maintain a professional image and manner consistent with the YMCA mission and goals.
Develop, implement and oversee all aquatic programs, including but not limited to parent/child, swim lessons, aqua exercise, lap swim, lifeguard training, pool rentals, summer camp swim lessons and all other aquatic programs to ensure we meet the needs of our members and the community while achieving association operating objectives.
Provide excellent customer service by being responsive to phone calls and emails, communicating effectively.
Develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive offering of quality aquatic programming that is consistent with the YMCA mission and meets the needs of our members.
Ensure that NYS Dept of Health Code, operating standards, and reporting are maintained at all times as well as follow the YMCA of the USA Aquatics Guidelines.
Oversee supervision of all aquatic department staff including Assistant Program Director, lifeguards and swim instructors.
Develop and implement a comprehensive, quality swim instruction programs for all ages.

Under the supervision of the Fitness Director, the Group Exercise Instructor will provide quality instruction and supervision to members by teaching safe and functionally challenging classes that promote the total fitness development of Y members. The Group Exercise Instructor assists in membership development and retention by providing a FUN, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes group interaction

Under the direction of the Y's Beginnings Director, the Teacher/ Teacher Assistant must ensure a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment that fosters children's social, physical, spiritual and mental growth. Provides a quality experience that is focused on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
The Teacher is responsible for direct leadership of a classroom including but not limited to implementation of the curriculum; student observations, developmental assessments and reports; supervision of assigned assistant teachers and parent communication
Bachelor's degree or CDA
Prior experience in Early Childhood programs
Must be able to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be cleared through the YMCA Background check
$14.00 per hour
Teacher Assistant is responsible to assist classroom Teacher in planning and executing a varied and creative curriculum.
