Membership

In line with the mission of the Y, membership in the YMCA is strongly encouraged with Family Membership given top priority.  As a full member you can enjoy all the facilities available at the Y while supporting the community and charitable aims of the organization.  As given below, various types of membership are available with different fee structures.  A goal of the Y movement is that every member volunteer in some form.  Please consider how you can volunteer to build a stronger community and make your membership that much more satisfying.

Programs

The Rockland County YMCA offers a large number of classes in fitness, aquatics, dance and other activities.  These programs are divided into two groups: those free and restricted to members only and those available for a fee to members and non-members alike.  In all but a few cases, members receive a substantial discount on program fees with Family members enjoying the largest discount.

Non-members who pay a program fee are entitled to participate in that program only.  They are not entitled to full use of the Y facility.  Please consider becoming a member of the Y, not only for the direct benefits to you but also to support the Y's non-profit community service.

Membership Policies

  • Membership is open to all regardless of place of residence, race, sex or creed.
  • Your membership must be valid through the entire session in order to register for programs restricted to members or to claim member discounts for programs.
  • Membership is nontransferable; Loaned membership cards will be confiscated and will result in loss of privileges.

Financial Assistance

Thanks to generosity of donors to our Strong Kids annual sustaining campaign, special events and grants for foundations and government, the Rockland County YMCA can offer financial aid for income-qualified families and individuals.  Our mission ensures that no family or individual in need is turned away.  Financial aid is available on a limited basis for all levels of membership and programs.  Applications are available at all program sites.
