North Rockland School Age Child Care (NORSAC)
The YMCA conducts a before and after school care program for
students K-7th grade in cooperation with North Rockland Schools.
About 200 children each year from Gerald Neary, North
Garnerville, Stony Point , Thiells, and West Haverstraw Elementary Schools and
James A. Farley, Willow Grove, and Haverstraw Middle Schools
are served by the North Rockland School Age Care
(NORSAC)program. Our goals are to support and strengthen the family unit, help
children develop new skills and deliver a program in a nurturing
environment of safety, support and care. Children choose from a variety of activities
including arts and crafts, reading indoor games, sports and outdoor
activities. They also receive homework assistance and a nutritious
snack. Transportation is provided if the program is not at the
home school site.
After Kindergarten Care
All morning kindergarteners from North Rockland School District are welcome to attend. Kindergarten children from Gerald Neary, Stony Point, North Garnerville and Thiells Elementary schools will be bussed to West Haverstraw Elementary School after their morning kindergarten session. The program runs from 11:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. ($540 per month) or 11:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. ($665 per month) at West Haverstraw Elementary School.
Before School Care (Thiells Elementary School Only)
Before school care is available to students at Thiells Elementary School from 7:00 to 9:00 A.M.
After School Care for Elementary School Students
After school care is available from 3:15 to 6:30 P.M. on site at Stony Point, Thiells and West Haverstraw Elementary Schools. North Garnerville Elementary students are bussed to Thiells Elementary for the after school program. Gerald Neary Elementary students are bussed to West Haverstraw Elementary School for the after school program.
After School Care for Middle School Students
After school care is available from 3:15 to 6:30 P.M. on site at West Haverstraw Middle School. Students from James A. Farley and Willow Grove Middle Schools are bussed to Haverstraw Middle School for the after school program.
NORSAC Admission and Registration Information
Admission is on a pre-registered, first-come, first-served basis with special consideration for children who need care five days a week. Children must be registered for at least two days per week.

North Rockland Child Care Tuition and Fees for 2009-2010
Tuition is based on a ten month enrollment, August 2009 through May 2010. Payment is due by the 5th of each month. Registration after August 5, 2009 requires one month's tuition before your child can start. There is a 5% discount for each additional child enrolled. Rates are as follows:

There is a processing fee of $35 per child and at least one child of those enrolled from the family must become a member of the YMCA. Late registration after August 1, 2009 requires a $75 processing fee. These fees and membership costs are non-refundable.
