Honoring Our Community Champions
Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker - Service to Youth Award
Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker, serving the Clarkstown Police Department for nearly 40 years, is the recipient of the Rockland County YMCA’s Service to Youth Award for his enduring impact on Rockland through exemplary leadership and a steadfast commitment to both public service and youth development. A lifelong Clarkstown resident, he has strengthened public trust through integrity, transparency, and community policing, while fostering partnerships between law enforcement, community leaders, and local organizations. His support of programs like the Town of Clarkstown Youth Court and his involvement in local sports, schools, and youth organizations reflect his belief in empowering young people to become engaged, responsible citizens. Chief Wanamaker’s mentorship has shaped not only the officers under his command but also inspired generations of youth, leaving a lasting legacy of safety, service, and leadership in Rockland County.
Orange and Rockland Utilities - Matthew Mariconi - Community Service Award
Matthew Mariconi, a dedicated leader at Orange and Rockland Utilities, has played a vital role in strengthening the company’s connection between with the Rockland County community. With years of experience in the energy sector, he has combined professional expertise with a deep commitment to delivering reliable service, promoting sustainability, and fostering resilience for residents and businesses alike. O&R has built strong community partnerships that support youth, families, and local nonprofits, including a meaningful collaboration with the Rockland County YMCA to empower teens and strengthen future leaders. For his vision, service, and lasting dedication to making Rockland stronger, Matthew Mariconi and Orange & Rockland Utilities are being honored with the Community Service Award.
Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny – Distinguished Service Award
Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny, the first woman elected to lead the Town of Orangetown, is the recipient of the Rockland County YMCA’s Distinguished Service Award for her dedicated career in public service and her commitment to strengthening Rockland County. With decades of experience in municipal law and government, she has led with transparency, accountability, and a deep focus on community well-being. A steadfast supporter of the YMCA, Supervisor Kenny has engaged directly with teens in the Youth and Government Program, serving on the speakers’ panel at the annual conference and inspiring students from across Rockland to become active civic leaders. Her vision, leadership, and support of both her town and the YMCA community make her a most deserving honoree, and her example continues to inspire future generations of leaders in Rockland County.
Master of Ceremonies - Kenneth Zebrowski
We are delighted to welcome Kenneth Zebrowski as our Master of Ceremonies for the YMCA’s Night of Magic. A former New York State Assemblyman and now President of the Rockland Business Association, Ken brings proven leadership and is a strong advocate for the Rockland community. His energy, charisma, and deep commitment to strengthening Rockland will ensure the evening is both engaging and memorable.
