The Spirit of Community at the Y
December 8, 2025

Some moments at the YMCA remind us just how special this place truly is.
This Sunday, our indoor cycling family came together for a ride filled with energy, connection, and generosity. Matt — who first came to the Y as a member and later earned his instructor certification through our program — has been leading this group for years. His classes are always full, not just because of the workout, but because of the community he brings to life in that room.
Fresh towels for every rider. Water to keep everyone hydrated. Themed rides on holidays. Fans during the summer heat. And this weekend, homemade lox that he made just to bring people together. Riders added sweet treats and juice, and the YMCA brought the bagels — a simple gesture that helped turn the morning into something memorable.
Moments like this capture what the Y is all about. We’re here to support one another, to create spaces where people belong, and to strengthen the community we serve. Every day, members, staff, volunteers, and donors help make that possible.
This is what giving looks like.
This is what community feels like.
This is the YMCA.
