Rockland YMCA Rangers Shine at Barclays Center in Unforgettable NBA Experience

The Rockland YMCA Rangers AAU basketball team turned a competitive weekend into an unforgettable experience with a trip to Barclays Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets, for a special tournament matchup against The Sons of Hudson.

The Rangers faced a strong and well-prepared Sons of Hudson squad in a closely contested game played on an NBA court. Both teams battled throughout, showcasing skill, effort, and sportsmanship. The Rockland YMCA Rangers ultimately came away with a 38–31 victory in a game that remained tight until the final moments. Credit goes to The Sons of Hudson for a hard-fought performance that made the matchup an exciting and memorable contest for everyone involved.

Before tipoff, the experience was elevated even further when the Rangers had the opportunity to meet Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernández. The meeting added a professional touch to the day and gave the young athletes a rare chance to connect with an NBA coach inside one of the league’s premier arenas.

Following the tournament game, the Rangers celebrated together at Dave & Buster’s, where the team enjoyed a meal and unlimited games, continuing the fun and team bonding off the court.

The day concluded with another major highlight as the players stayed to watch the Brooklyn Nets take on the Orlando Magic in a thrilling overtime game. Adding to the excitement, three members of the Rockland YMCA Rangers were selected to line up on the court at halftime and exchange high fives with the Nets players, creating a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the young athletes.
