YMCA JUNETEENTH

In observance of Juneteenth, the Rockland County YMCA in Nyack will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th. Juneteenth is a significant day in American history, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, and we are honored to recognize this important day.

Our facility will resume regular operating hours on Thursday, June 20th. We encourage all our members to take this day to reflect, learn, and engage in activities that celebrate freedom and equality.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth.

Thank you for being a valued member of our YMCA community.

June 19th celebrates the emancipation of those who were enslaved in the United States. While the holiday has gained more mainstream attention recently, there are still some who do not know the history behind the celebration. The Y is committed to educating, while uplifting our commitment to becoming an anti-racist, multicultural organization. As the Rockland County YMCA honors Juneteenth, we are excited to share some great ways that we are celebrating, and you can celebrate too!
