Teen Employee Spotlight!
One of our young fitness staffers, Sincere Seward, won the 400-meter hurdles at the Rockland County Track & Field Championships last week. Sincere is a graduating Nyack High School next month. He joined our team last year, working four days a week in the fitness center, helping members. Sincere joined the Rockland YMCA as a freshman!
Why did you look at the YMCA for your first job?
I looked towards the YMCA due to how physically active a lot of the programs are at the Y.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job has to be helping the members on the gym floor. That could be with spotting them on the bench press or helping them with how much weight they should use of the leg press and etc.!
What’s your plan after high school?
My plans after high school are to continue to work at the YMCA while attending RRC for my two years, then move on to SUNY Binghamton for psychology
Has being a student athlete helped you with your work in the fitness center?
Being a Student Athlete has been a major help in my job and gives me the necessary information since I’m constantly working out so I can pass on that information along to a member who may have had the same struggles I had when I first started out.
