Helping people of all ages and abilities to develop health in spirit, mind and body is at the core of the YMCA movement. Our programs are designed to help people create attainable goals for self improvement through regular exercise, proper nutrition, stress management and health education.
Belonging to the Rockland County YMCA and participating in our fitness programs means opportunities for friendships, a sense of well-being, self-confidence, and improved mental abilities and cognition. Try a group exercise class, work out with a personal trainer, sample our Fitness Center, play Pickleball, we have many ways to help you on your journey towards better health.
GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
From low - impact exercise, chair classes or stretching and strength training to indoor cycling, water exercise or yoga, you’ll find a group exercise class that is fun, supportive and keeps you moving.
YOGA
Learn how to relax your mind and body, and be present together with yoga poses, meditation, and mindful techniques! Deep Breathing and Relaxation Techniques. Small group classes.
FUNCTIONAL FITNESS
Functional Fitness is a community-delivered exercise program proven to increase strength, boost activity levels, and elevate mood. The program focuses on stretching, flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics, and strength training exercises.
INDOOR CYCLING CLASSES
The Rockland County YMCA is thrilled to offer Indoor Cycling in a group fitness format. Classes focus on endurance, strength, interval, and high-intensity training using the stationary bike.
PERSONAL TRAINING
We all need the advice of an expert sometimes, as well as the personal attention that comes with a trainer or coach. The Y offers personal training and coaching to help you set and meet your specific goals in order to live healthier.
WATER EXERCISE CLASSES
Adults looking to challenge themselves without stress on their joints or members who enjoy the water can take advantage of the Y's Water Aerobics classes.
WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM
"The goal of YMCA's Weight Loss Program is to support and assist participants on their weight loss journey, starting with small, modest improvements in healthy behaviors, with the goal of creating lasting change and replacing unhealthful habits with new, healthier habits".
