Community Shows Up in a Big Way at Taste of Nyack

What a night at the Taste of Nyack.
We set out expecting about 100–120 diners — and instead, 212 members, friends, families, and supporters came out in full force. That kind of turnout says everything about this community.
We want to start with a heartfelt thank you to our incredible restaurant partners. Your time, talent, energy, delicious food, welcoming service, and the spaces you opened to us are truly the heart of this event. You made the experience special for everyone who attended.
A special thank you as well to the Nyack Seaport for generously providing the space and staff for our wrap-up gathering. It was the perfect place to come together, celebrate, and close out such a meaningful evening.
Our gratitude also goes to the many sponsors and community partners who added a sweet touch to the night with gift cards, gift certificates, desserts, coffee, and breads. In total, more than 20 gifts were shared with attendees — a reflection of the generosity that surrounds this YMCA.
We were honored to have our Board Members join us, along with our incredible YMCA staff and fitness community — including Indoor Cycling (Matt), Cardio Classes (Eve), Yoga instructors, Enhanced Fitness participants, and so many others. Your energy and support made the night even more special.
As our CEO, Phil Donnelly, shared during the evening, events like this reflect the power of community and the impact of coming together in support of the YMCA’s mission.
Director of Development Erica D’Souza captured it best when she said:
“We planned for 150 people… and over 200 of you showed up. That says everything about this community.”
We also want to recognize George Berry, whose vision over 17 years ago created this event. His continued passion and dedication are a big part of why this tradition remains so meaningful.
To everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, or contributed — thank you. We truly could not have done this without you.
And to those who received gift cards and certificates — we encourage you to visit these amazing restaurants again, thank them personally, and share their businesses with your friends and family. Your continued support means so much to them.
