June 2, 2025
On May 22, 2025, the Rockland County YMCA welcomed board members, staff, community partners, and youth leaders to its Annual Meeting—an evening filled with recognition, reflection, and celebration. Held at the YMCA, the event brought together individuals from every corner of the organization to honor a year of meaningful impact and growth.

This year’s theme, A Year of Impact and Community Strength, came to life as we acknowledged the achievements of our programs and the outstanding individuals who help move our mission forward.
Award recipients included:
  • George M. Schofield Memorial Award: Michael Grant
  • Service to Youth Award: Suzette Venner
  • Youth & Government Senior Student Awards: Ella Rakhlin, Mary McCormack, Josie Rothman
  • Youth Leadership & Community Service Award: Alejandra Silva-Exais
The celebration included representatives from the Orange & Rockland, Rotary Club, Teens In Action and Youth & Government students, alumni, parents, and community supporters. After the program, guests enjoyed a lighthearted mix-and-mingle featuring games like pool, air hockey, axe throwing, a golf simulator, ping pong and oversized Jenga—adding an extra layer of fun to an already inspiring evening.

It was a night that reflected everything the Rockland County YMCA stands for: community, leadership, and shared joy.
