The 2025 YMCA Gala was a night to remember, marking one of the most successful celebrations in recent history. With more than 200 guests in attendance—the largest turnout in years—the event raised over $85,000 to support youth scholarships and vital community programs.

 

During a recent News 12 interview conducted by Diane Caruso, Hawthorne, now the Aquatics Director at the Nyack YMCA, shared his remarkable journey from a hesitant adult learner to a passionate instructor teaching others how to find confidence in the water. Only a few years ago, Hawthorne didn’t know how to swim. After enrolling in lessons at the Nyack YMCA, he gradually overcame his fear of deep water. Six months later, not only could he swim — he was teaching others how to do the same.

Nyack came alive with flavor as residents and visitors gathered for the annual Taste of Nyack, a night of great food, sweet treats, and community spirit — all in support of local youth programs.

We had a fantastic turnout with 120 golfers, volunteers, and staff coming together for a great day on the course. Your support helps us continue providing impactful programs for youth, families, and our community. We couldn’t have done it without you!

On May 22, 2025, the Rockland County YMCA welcomed board members, staff, community partners, and youth leaders to its Annual Meeting—an evening filled with recognition, reflection, and celebration. Held at the YMCA, the event brought together individuals from every corner of the organization to honor a year of meaningful impact and growth. This
